Well, I have never tried it but this is one of my objective and I don't think there will be any problem.
Reason being is :

Suppose we have 2 machines with 1.4 Mhz and 1 GB of RAM each, then what we can do is like we can assign half of the memory of one machine to another one so it will appear like one machine is having the memory as 1.5GB and the other one is having 500Mb. Same will go with the CPU.
So when we do condor_status we will see the machines with 1.5 GB and 500mb memory.
