Well, I’m glad you got it
working. I’ve heard many people have it running fine on a Win2k3
server. Maybe it’s a Group Policy issue? I’m not sure,
but I did change the service to run with my credentials, and I’m God on
my network. J John Alberts From:
condor-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:condor-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sean Looper If it’s any consolation, I have
Condor running on two Win2k3 servers. One machine is running the
Negotiator and Collector, and the other is running all my remote schedds.
I can’t give much insight as to what problem you’re running in
to. I barely know how I was able to get mine working ;) Sean From: condor-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx

Behalf Of John Alberts I tried 6.7.9 for Windows and I still have
the exact same problems. While installing condor on my Win2k3 domain
controller I got the error message I mentioned previously about
condor_config.local. After install I fixed the crlf problems in the
condor_config.local file. As I mentioned before, the paths in the
condor_config files uses a mixture of both forward and backward slashes, so I
fixed that as well. I also gave full control to the system account for
the condor directory. I then started the condor service and only condor_master.exe
starts. This machine is a central manager and should also be able to
submit jobs. According to the docs I should have the following running:
My MasterLog file
only shows: As you can see, there is not much to go on
here. Notice from the first startup message the mixture of forward and
backslashes in the condor_config file that I had to correct. Since
the other services aren’t started, no logs are generated for them. I’m not sure what else to do.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks John Alberts From: condor-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx

Behalf Of John Alberts I got a lot of feedback from everyone on
my problem and I wanted to update everyone on what I am doing to resolve my
problems. I noticed 6.7.9 has been released, so the first thing I am
going to do is give this new version a try. Hopefully it will at least
resolve the messed up condor_config file. If it does, that will probably
also eliminate my installer errors that popped up about condor_config. If that doesn’t work I will try many
of the great suggestions offered everyone. Thanks again for your help. John Alberts From:
condor-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:condor-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Alberts Has anyone had any luck using Condor on Windows 2003 Server
with/without sp1 as a central manager? I tried, but it didn’t
work. It was my first attempt at using condor, so maybe it was user
error? J BTW, my Win2k3 machine is also a DC. Thanks John Alberts |
