Subject: | [HTCondor-devel] How to speed up HTCondor 33% without really trying |
I finally got my desktop upgraded from CentOS 6 to Ubuntu 18. Amount other things, this means going from gcc 4.4 (last touched around 2012) to gcc 7.3 (last touched early 2018). As a simple benchmark, I ran condor_history on a large history file, many times, and took the fastest result, on CentOS 6, and then on condor_history rebuilt from sources on Ubuntu: CentOS 6: user cpu: 13.833 seconds Ubuntu18:user cpu:Â 9.316 seconds Found these numbers interesting. -greg |
