this is "testing/unstable". there is no number associated, 
and  "testing/unstable" will refer to another version in the near future :(

the gcc-3.3.5-compiled one is "3.1".

i saw that...
it compiles... Francesco will go on on packaging and test the binaries (his 
machines froze while i was compiling on it).
