it's going to be more work for us to be able to actually apply your
patch until it's relative to the end of our V6_7-branch.  it's also
going to be more work for you to keep dealing with bits and pieces of
the code from different revisions.

therefore, you should just get source access and work with 1
consistent copy of the source tree, all from the same version,
(preferably, from the end of the V6_7-branch).
