Yes, in my environment the build gives an
error related to Java. The log appears below. I have not tried to debug this.
It could be possible that this appears in only my environment. I was however
successful in building OpenSSL-0.9.8 and linking condor with the ssl/crypto libraries. /home/ddas/condor-6.7.13-orig/v6.7.13.release.freebsd-patched.old/externals/build_external

Regarding
support for openssl in condor: In the externals directory (of condor-6.7.13)
there is an openssl bundle, but it seems that it is not used in the build. The
build system tries to use and build globus’s openssl instead. Globus
build requires Java. The Globus build shouldn't require java. We certainly don't build any
Globus components that require java. Are you seeing the Globus build fail
because of java? +--------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ |
