I spoke up this time because I didn't want the GEMS
community to think that everyone is using Simics 3.x at this
point.
I also will mention that we at Wisconsin are all still using Simics
2.x internally.
Sorry, if I caused any mislead.
We recently got an academic floating license from SIMICS and it doesn't
include 2.x. And basically they told us they do not issue any new
licenses for 2.x. Thats why I tried to point that out to the group.
Also, the SIMICS guys sent an email to the SIMICS Forum stating that
they no longer support SImics 2.x. So, we ended up installing Simics 3.x
and GEMS 2.1, not that we tried GEMS heavily but so far it worked fine
with Simics 3.x. Hopefully, it remains to be the case :)
