Did you create processor sets before calling pset_bind? If not, I would
suspect thread migrations as the cause of the
assertion failures...

Ah, that was the problem.  I found a (commented out) example of how to do it in btree.simics.  It seems to have fixed the consistency problem I was having on cholesky as well.
