Subject: | [Gems-users] Using Garnet standalone |
All, I am trying to make some modifications to Garnet (specifically, changing the routing in both fixed and flexible pipeline router models). It would be nice to be able to run Garnet in standalone mode (without ruby) for quicker performance evaluation (of the interconnect) and better/more efficient debugging. Once the new routing function is fully tested using synthetic traffic in this standalone mode, the changes can be incorporated into the Garnet network models that are integrated in ruby+simics for full-system simulation. Was wondering if anyone has tried this before and, if so, is willing to share his/her experience (specifically, code modifications, the makefile and synthetic/trace traffic generation functions)? I guess the original developers probably designed and debugged Garnet standalone. Any input will be much appreciated (and sorry for a rather vague/open-ended question). regards, bilal |
