Hi Dan,

I am using 32-bit x86 system.

I followed the instruction on the QuickStart page, after compiling ruby I typed the following commands:

simics> read-configuration [chkpoint_name]

simics> instruction-fetch-mode instruction-fetch-trace

simics> istc-disable

simics> dstc-disable

simics> load-module ruby

When running the last command I get:
"error installing ruby timing model.
  Simics license checked in! "
and I get my shell back.

When trying to load ruby first it does not crash but it seems like ruby does not count anything.

I am not sure that ruby really counts anything while I run my

Did you try to load the Ruby module without first loading a 
checkpoint?

I am working with SUSE 10 as my host 
OS.
I downloaded Simic 2.2.19 and gems 1.1 
versions.

I menaged to compile the Ruby module based on the quickstart guide in 
the
wiki site but when I tried to load the module in simics the module 
and
simics 
crashed.

I managed to work with Ruby and simics with Fedora core 3 (gcc 
3.4)

Can anyone help me with 
that?

I am trying to work with Ruby module under SUSE 10 (gcc 
4.0.2)
I managed to compile Ruby but when trying to run the module, simics 
crash.
 
I am working with simics 2.2.19 and gems
