(1) Does OPAL drive SIMICS In other words. Does OPAL actually execute the instructions and then advance the SIMICS processor cycle (1 cycle is 1 pipeline cycle) (2) Does SIMICS drive OPAL ? OPAL obtains instruction to be executed and memory events from SIMICS Mike Marty specified in his reply that you advance simics cycle to execute multiple instructions ? Why do you do this ? And won't this affect correctness, If a memory load is returned and OPAL doesn't see this immediately because SIMICS was advanced multiple instructions Thanks Arrvindh Shriraman Conputer Science Department University of Rochester ______________________________________________________ Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. http://store.yahoo.com/redcross-donate3/ |
