Dear CHTC users,
We are holding information sessions and training events once a month in Spring 2025! If you’re wondering what CHTC can do for you, how to build a container image, or need a refresher on HTCondor basics, keep reading! Visit
our website to see all events.
CHTC Information Session / In-person Office Hours
Do you have an account and don’t know where to start? Come learn about High Throughput and High Performance Computing at CHTC. We’ll discuss the transition from your laptop to large-scale computing systems, and outline next steps to scaling up your research.
No CHTC account is required. In-person office hours (45 min) will follow this session.
Building and Using Containers for Large-scale Computing
Learn about building and using your software environment with containers! In this workshop, we’ll introduce basic container concepts, guidelines for building and storing container images, and using them in job submission. In the last half of the training,
CHTC facilitators will assist as users build their own Docker or Apptainer container images (in-person only). A CHTC account is required.
Getting Started with High Throughput Computing
New to high throughput computing or need a refresher? Join our HTCondor Basics workshop, where we’ll introduce CHTC’s High Throughput Computing system, components of a job, and how to handle data. In this workshop, users will practice how to transfer data,
submit jobs, and debug simple job errors. A basic understanding of the command line is recommended. A CHTC account is required.
We look forward to seeing you in the spring semester!
Best,
Your CHTC team
