Data Science Research Bazaar: Share your data and computing experience

The 7th annual Data Science Research Bazaar at UW–Madison welcomes submissions for lightning talks, posters, training sessions, and focused discussions. Researchers, students, and professionals at all levels of expertise can apply to showcase their work at the main conference and other events this spring. 

  • The main conference, with opportunities to present lightning talks and posters, will be on March 19.

  • Training sessions and focused discussions will be held throughout March and April.

  • Proposals are due January 15. Learn more and apply


Software Carpentry training: Learn core computing skills

Registration for Software Carpentry in January is open! Software Carpentry will be held online on Jan 12-16 from 9am-1pm.  This workshop series teaches essential software engineering tools for researchers:

  • The unix shell

  • Version control with Git/GitHub

  • Python

  • Includes an extra half-day Jan 16th that wraps all the lessons together into workflows with Unix, Git, and Python!

The Software Carpentry is a useful jump start for beginners in any or all of the topics covered.  Register to join before Jan 5th or whenever tickets run out.
