New login nodes for submit1, submit2 users

Dear CHTC users, 

 

This message is only for users who log in to submit1.chtc.wisc.edu or submit2.chtc.wisc.edu to use our high-throughput computing (HTC) system.

 

As a reminder, submit1 and submit2 are being replaced with new servers tomorrow, March 12. 

• Starting tonight (Mar 11): no new jobs will start from submit1, submit2
• Tomorrow morning (Mar 12): you will be unable to log in to submit1 or submit2
• Tomorrow afternoon (Mar 12): log in will be available on the new servers

• ap2001.chtc.wisc.edu - for former users of submit1

• ap2002.chtc.wisc.edu - for former users of submit2

• All files on the old servers will be synced to the new ones during tomorrow’s outage
• Any jobs that have not finished before 7am tomorrow will need to be rerun

 

The new access points are on new, modern servers that will be more reliable and provide a better user experience!
