Subject: submit2.chtc.wisc.edu unavailable last night (9/18-9/19)
Hi everyone,

This message is for CHTC users who log into submit2.chtc.wisc.edu to access the high throughput computing (HTC) system.

Due to a faulty configuration change, the internal IP address for submit2 changed last night. This had two effects:
  • Between 5:00 yesterday and 10:00 this morning, submit2 users were unable to log in (possibly including an error message along the lines of "WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!")
  • Jobs in the submit2 queue that were running last night would have stopped running, returning to an "idle" state in the queue.
We've fixed the configuration, so submit2 users should now be able to log in. Jobs that were interrupted last night should still be in the queue and will start again.
