Subject: | For the month of January: extra HTC capacity available |
For HTC System users, During the month of January, CHTC is enjoying some donated computing capacity from campus partner Foxconn, which we have configured to behave just like CHTC's CentOS7 servers (see more on CHTCÂOS versions). Your jobs will automatically run on this capacity if you use "+WantFlocking = true" in your submit file. Beyond this donation, January is always a slow time of year, with a lot of extra capacity available in and (especially) beyond CHTC. If you would like to use this and other computing resources outside of CHTC's local capacity (including other pools across campus, or the nation-wide Open Science Grid), we've got some details on Scaling Up in a CHTC online guide. Of course, we're here to discuss scaling up with you ahead of time and to help you easily troubleshoot any issues if your jobs don't run successfully outside of CHTC the first time. Bug us, liberally! As always, if you have any questions or issues, please get in touch by sending an email to chtc@xxxxxxxxxxx or showing up for drop-in help at CHTC Office Hours.
