[Chtc-users] Fwd: HPC cluster offline Tuesday 10/14 & Wednesday 10/15

NOTE: This email pertains only to users of our HPC Cluster, and users of the HTC system will not be affected

The HPC Cluster will be down from 7:00am next Tuesday (10/14) through 11:00pm on Wednesday (10/15).

During this time, we will be performing some *final* configuration changes to the cluster after the recent addition of significant compute capacity, now available in the "univ2" partition. After the reconfiguration, the servers in "univ2" will be able to access the external network, which will allow for external software license communication and other network-dependent features to become available.

Please remove as much data as possible from the cluster before this time,Â

and COPYÂANY ESSENTIAL DATAÂto an alternate location available to you.

It is often when filesystems are powered down and back up that data is lost or corrupted. As always, data on CHTC systems is NOT BACKED UP. Please review the data storage guidelines in the online HPC Cluster Guide, or write to us at chtc@xxxxxxxxxxx with any questions.

Hi,

The HPC cluster will be shutdown onÂTuesday 10/14 beginning at 7:00am and will remain shutdown until Wednesday 10/15 at 11:00pm to finish setting up the new InfiniBand network. During this time you will not be able to login to the cluster or submit jobs, and all running and pending jobs will be terminated. If you have any comments or concerns please let us know!
